DEVOTION ONE
Satan's Fierce Protection
Looking at your life and what goes on from day to day, consider the many different ways that Satan looks out for you; not just in the spiritual realm but in the physical as well. It is amazing when you contemplate it; for example, have you ever been really sad and then felt as if someone was pouring joy into your soul? Have you ever met someone and thought they would make a good friend or boyfriend/girlfriend, only to have them not call after awhile? You might have thought at the time that they were just not interested, but consider now that maybe they were not good people or had bad intentions and Satan gave them a deserved kick in the butt. And have you ever had a feeling that you should do something and then soon after something bad happened and you realized that you were told to do that certain thing so it wouldn't have happened? I had these things occur and I know that it is Satan looking out for me. It is a powerful feeling to know that I am grasped in the mighty wing of Satan where I am protected from deep harm. Now I am not saying that Satan will protect us from everything as we have to go through things to learn and become strong, but he knows what will happen in the future and does look out for our well being. So if the people in our life are not good for us, he may cause a situation where they leave us; also, if our behaviour is such where we put ourselves at risk or don't take care of ourselves properly, he will make us come face to face with our actions where we will be forced to correct them. For example, have you ever felt bad and had negative thoughts? Then all of a sudden you feel as if you have been kicked in the head so to speak, as if Satan was saying, “You want this? Well, this is what it feels like.” You then feel exactly what it is you had been thinking and then you know deep down it is not what you really want and that the negative thoughts must stop. Satan may seem tough at this time, but he does what he does to get us on the right track. Satan will also keep an eye out for those we love such as our children; even though they may not follow him. So, take some time to contemplate the many ways Satan works behind the scenes in your life and know that even though you can't see him, he is with you.
DEVOTION TWO
Do you remember that special moment when you first heard Satan calling you? Did he whisper in your ear? Did he caress your mind in a dream? Or was it through a sign that he gave as you walked in a quiet place? No matter how he came to you, it is something that you will never forget. Now even though this was his first communication with you, most likely he has always been a part of your life, but chose just the right time to call you to his side. He knew when you would be ready to hear his voice and to begin learning about him. For each person it is different. Some might be ready as young as thirteen years old, some not until they are twenty and others not until much later. The important thing is that you heard him and answered, which was the beginning of a very special relationship. Now some Satanists leave Satan for awhile, even after having been with him for a number of years; perhaps to explore another path, perhaps for another reason, yet will come back to him later on. If you have done this and are one of his chosen ones, he will call you back when the time is right as it is with him that you belong. Satan chose you for a reason; if you are struggling on your path, think back to when he first called you and what it was like. Think about what he means to you and what you mean to him. Satan never leaves his chosen ones; he may back away to give us space if we need it, but we are always in the corner of his eye and under the protection of his mighty wing.
DEVOTION THREE
Satan’s Constant Presence
While walking outside one day, I happened to look down to see this beautiful dark leaf lying on the cement in front of me. With such intensity, I felt at the core of my being that Satan had put it there to reassure me that he was with me. It was as if he was saying, “I am here with you, no matter where you are and I put this in your path so you would know this.” Now most likely you are thinking that it was only a leaf and that it is no big deal, and under regular circumstances that would be true. But the thing is, I had just come from walking across that same pathway just a few minutes before and there had been nothing there; plus, there was no wind and not a tree in sight that sprouted that kind of leaf. He put something in my way where there would be no doubt that he had done it, and he gave me that powerful impression to know what it meant. This is evidence that it is important to Satan that we know that he is with us and he will give us these kinds of signs to remind us. Now think for a minute how he shows you that he is present in your life. Have you ever felt alone or been in a hard situation and then felt a presence either around you or coming up from within you and without a doubt you know that you are not alone? What about when you are sad; have you ever felt as though someone were comforting you and it was as if a soft blanket were being placed over you? Have you ever asked Satan to help you and then what you asked for happens; sometimes right away? What does this tell you? Can you see how much you mean to him? Do you know that he is with you always and that you can go to him with anything, anytime? Sometimes we might not notice the things Satan does as we are so busy and focused on our mundane life, but keep an eye out as he will speak to you and be assured that he is always with you.
DEVOTION FOUR
Do You Truly Want To Know Satan?
When you first meet someone and they seem like a cool person and you discover that they have one or more of the same interests as you, more than likely you will take steps to keep in contact with them in order to get to know them better. It takes time to develop a friendship with someone, but when you want it to work out you will spend a lot of time and energy on it. The same goes for wanting to know Satan. If you are truly interested in him, how much more will you go the extra mile to find out what you can about him? Not only will you look everywhere for any and all sources that teach about or speak of Satan, most importantly you will want to get to know him yourself. It does not matter what books or websites others might tell you are not relevant, you want to read them if they have anything to do with Satan, especially if he plays a role in the book such as the Bible or Quran. But always keep in mind, just as you might read a biography of someone you admire, you only learn what the writer has decided to tell you, including any bias they might have. So, unless you get to know the person yourself, you only know of them through someone else’s eyes. Now consider what it takes to get to know Satan fully. If you don’t take the time and devote yourself to really getting to know him … you won’t. You will continue to view him through the words and eyes of others and follow their IDEA of Satan, not the TRUE Satan. You need to learn about his different aspects, both his darkness and his light. Request that he reveal both to you and then be open to receive the truth, but if you aren’t … don’t even bother to ask. Both are needed if you are to understand him and what he is about. Some of you might be a little wary to open yourself up to darkness, but that is part of the Satan you follow and to deny it, is to deny him. The same goes for his light side. Many Satanists don’t want much to do with it, but that is a part of him as well. So, take some time and ask yourself, do I really want to know Satan? If the answer is yes, you know what to do.
DEVOTION FIVE
Satan’s Darkness
You feel the tug of the darkness and you’re drawn to look up at the night sky. Satan’s presence is very real… you can sense it. There is a certain feeling to the darkness that you cannot mistake… especially this night. You contemplate how vast the night sky is, that it has no boundaries and you compare it to Satan’s immense wisdom and power and you can’t help but respond to it. Closing your eyes for a brief minute, you get an impression that Satan is about to reveal what you have needed to know for a long time and you take a deep breath in anticipation. You ask yourself if you are ready, but Satan does not deal in being ready… it’s time. War… fighting… death… defeat… victory… is clearly seen in your minds eye and you can almost feel the sadness, despair and emptiness. But with this revelation comes the understanding that for Satan, everything has a purpose and that these specific battles throughout history were necessary. They were not senseless wars like the tyrant god is guilty of perpetrating. What comes after is the scene of a hurricane, followed by an earthquake and as the death of many is once again displayed before you, a greater understanding of chaos and destruction and their necessity is made clear. Life cannot be all creation, security and peace, because in order for there to be change, birth and progress, these things must happen. It is not fair… but nothing is. As Satan reveals more and more, hate and vengeance strike at the core of your being and you experience how deep Satan detests an enemy as he stands, smiling, over the shell of one of Jehovah’s soldiers. The familiar sardonic laugh breaks the silence, and what overcomes you is pure evil from the depths of time and you tremble at its reality. Everything which the right hand path forbids- pride, wisdom, anger, knowledge, lust, power, chaos, freedom, manifesting the will, obtaining secrets of the unknown, is shown to you and as the things you believed to be moral turn 180 degrees, you are shaken to your very core. As Satan stands in his brilliance, it is evident what he has stood for all along and what he has pushed us to do, not only as Satanists, but as humans. The first so-called sin that he was accused of, is the very thing we should do every day of our lives- taking pride in ourselves and our accomplishments, wanting to be more and know more. As life and death are shown to you, you are made aware that to Satan they are very different than they are to us and that nothing is as simple as it has always seemed. There is beauty in both and as you watch someone close their eyes and leave this world toward a new life, you understand. Fear creeps up your spine… it also serves a purpose and Satan will use it when necessary, as you know full well. As he reveals to you his intensity and his seriousness, you become aware that he is deeper than you ever imagined and as the raven swoops past, you know you have come face to face with the true darkness. For as long as you walk the path of Satan, you will be encouraged to obtain knowledge, not only of good but evil, and the unknown will be made known to you. You will never underestimate Satan’s abilities and as you spend time in solitude, you are cognizant of the fact that darkness was first, is now, and will be forever more… so will Satan be.
more to come . . .
