In Satan's Honour

Life is short.

This fact becomes more real as you grow older. During the teenage years, you feel as if you will live forever. Your mortality is not something you think about, nor want to think about. Death is for the elderly- for grandparents and old movie stars. It's not for you—or so you want to believe.

But as the years go by, your muscles begin to ache and your skin starts to wrinkle. It becomes a reality that you are not going to live forever.

So while you still have the time, ask yourself, what is my purpose? What do I want to make of my life? If you are still young, then you're lucky. If you are older and have not yet figured it out, then get to it.

There is a verse in The Book of the Lord Satan that tells us how important it is to Satan that we know our True Will and exercise it. It states:

“Cursed be those who possess no will, no desire, they are a waste of useful energy.”

As a Satanist, you are not to live your life aimlessly. You only have a number of years to make a difference. You don't want to be old and look back on your life and believe that you have wasted it. What a horrible feeling that would be. So...

Create!

Destroy!

Transform!

Manifest!

Whatever your Will is—do it.

Make your life a masterpiece. Let it count for something. If you don't have the knowledge or the skills to accomplish your desires, then obtain them. You are capable of so much more than you have believed about yourself. Yes, life is a struggle and bad things happen, but you can overcome.

One of the most powerful statements about the Will is found in The Book of the Law, written by Aleister Crowley. It reads as follows:

“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.”

This verse is often used by people to excuse their destructive and useless behaviour. They believe that it gives them permission to do all the inconsequential things they want, which sadly ends up leading to stagnation and waste.

What the statement truly means, is to know your True Will and become it. To bring it forth into the world and live it. You choose to be who you are, and there is no one else in the world, whether it be in the past, the present, or future, that can accomplish what you are meant to accomplish. No one can live your Will, nor determine it for you.

Wherever you are right now, this is possible for you. Believe in yourself and you can do anything. It is never too late.
